Please excuse this post. This project needed to be viewed online and rather than use my unused Facebook account I'm using a blogger 4 class that has been finished.

Color Choice
After reading I have come to my own conclusion that color can have a purpose but can be aesthetically chosen by the designer. In my first draft I used color to represent the different weeks and chose specific color based on colors of music albums. Now for the second draft I am doing the same thing. The color choice of blues and yellows is random but the purpose is not. The blues represent the weeks and the different hue shows the change from weekday to weekend. The yellow represents when projects are due. I could have chosen the opposite color to blue but it was not aesthetically pleasing. So I as a designer made a personal choice to use yellow.

Mapping Draft 1
I started with making a print piece instead of an interactive one to help iron out some problems with delivering my information like sugar in the different drinks, when I was in the lab and for how long. The viewer will not be able to gather that but thankfully I am still in the drafting phase. I just will have to be active in getting suggestions and critiques.

Other Info/Initial design elements
Beside my data there is other information that is crucial to my design. Most of the time when I am in the lab I am listening to Deadmau5. So, I am planning to use Deadmau5 vivid colors like black, blue, purple, and green. Also, for the base design I was going to combine the idea of a visual heart beat monitor and the idea of visual representation of music that I used for the Broadside poster exhibition.

Project Influences
My five influences are lists below but two are print and three are interactive. With this project being open ended one could do print for interactive. My strength lies in print but I might just do interactive since that is where my design is leading me.
Print:
This one is not entirely a static print. The links to the left allow the viewer to view specific wine types but it's not very interactive almost makes me think of multiple pages.
Interactive: In all of this these there is more than one picture for each site. The first is picture is the beginning, what the viewer sees first. The second is to show a certain aspect of each interactive site

Problem
Oh what a world what a world! Getting away from my delirious ramblings after watching the Wizard of OZ I come yet again to my problem. I have to solve how I will visual show the relationship between the hours I spend outside of class in the lab and what I drink while there to projects due. This going to be an interesting project to say the least!

Redo
Ok good and bad news. Bad news first, when I did this project I did 4 other visual "graphs" that I thought were what the directions wanted. So, in class the five were distilled down to my best one. However, the good news is that I get to redo it but I just have to focus on this one and use the phrase "social butterfly" as inspiration. Doesn't sound so bad....we'll see.
