Other Info/Initial design elements
Beside my data there is other information that is crucial to my design. Most of the time when I am in the lab I am listening to Deadmau5. So, I am planning to use Deadmau5 vivid colors like black, blue, purple, and green. Also, for the base design I was going to combine the idea of a visual heart beat monitor and the idea of visual representation of music that I used for the Broadside poster exhibition.

I really enjoy the influences you found from GE. I think the way they presented their data could work really well for you because you may end up with a wide range of data.
ReplyDeleteI would maybe try to categorize the drinks by their amount caffeine or something, because everyone drinks things throughout their day, but if you had 3 projects due at once you're obviously going to be drinking really caffeinated drinks in order to stay up late. I thought this was also relevant to your idea of the heart beat monitor, it makes me think of caffeine or sugar.
ReplyDeletei don't know what deadmau5 is. so make sure you make it obvious what it is or have a definition of it.
DeleteIt would be good to maybe show some nutrient facts for each drink. For example, the amount of caffeine, sugar, etc. That way we can see what drinks you tended to drink when you needed more energy for a certain project.
ReplyDeleteIm a bit confused about what your drinking has to do with the amount of time your spending in the lab. Are you focusing on what your drinking or the amount of time you spend working on projects that are due?
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with Danny in that your idea is a bit confusing. I'm not getting the correlation between the drinks you consume and your projects.
ReplyDeleteDid this change after everyone commented on it? I don't see anything about drinks. Your influences are all pretty much the same, I would look into a few different kinds to diversify a little.
ReplyDeleteWhen I read your plan, I was a bit confused. The two aspects you want to combine, I don't think work. If you want the topic to be music and where you work, I think it would be better to focus on what kind of music you listen to while at the places you are.

ReplyDeleteI think is pretty cool, it definately follows what DeadMau5 is all about just make sure you give enough background info, a lot of people don't know what DeadMau5 is and how it sounds, etc.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the type of drinks and type of project you are working on would be a better correlation. Or the effects these drinks have on your body while you are doing these projects.
ReplyDeleteAll of your graphs are only data related i think you should look a little more at the graphic sites and look at some that are more picture related. I might be more visually appealing and more interesting to your viewers.
